Most of this planet covered in dense gas that makes the natives - who live on a floating island- eternal optimists

This entire planet is gas except for one floating piece of land which all the people live on. This planet was the first one attacked by meteos; they survived because the meteos fell right through the planet. The only meteos that landed on the island never had other meteos stack on top of them so the natives could just push them off the edge. Now, the meteos actually land on the island, but the Megadomians know how to launch them and the low gravity makes launching meteos for them easy. The people fly around constantly working; by constantly inhaling the gas they get an infinite supply of energy, and a constant sensation that makes happy. The small industries harvest the minerals from the gas and ship it to other planets.
